How to Obtain and Use the New Gadget ‘Omni-Ubiquity Net’

Animals captured by the Omni-Ubiquity Net and placed in the Serenitea Pot

Description in the Inventory

The Omni-Ubiquity Net is a gadget added to the game in Version 2.3. With this item, players are able to capture the essence of small animals that can be found in the open world. After capturing an animal, it will be added to the Furnishings tab in the Inventory, meaning that the animal can be placed inside the Serenitea Pot Realm.

You obtain the gadget by completing the “Omni-Ubiquity Net” world quest, which became available after the “Bantan Sango Case Files: The Warrior Dog” event ended. You will receive 10 Omni-Ubiquity Nets during the quest, and you can purchase up to 5 each week if you talk to Wakamurasaki, a merchant located near the waypoint west of Inazuma City.

Capturing Animals

To use the gadget, equip the Omni-Ubiquity Net. The gadget will replace your Elemental Skill with the capture skill. By holding the button, you can aim at the animal you want to capture. Releasing the button will make your character throw the net. After capturing an animal, 1 Omni-Ubiquity Net will be consumed.

*Note: To prevent animals from fleeing when you are trying to catch them, use Aloy in your party to capture animals that would normally produce meat/fowl and Sayu to capture crystalflies, loaches, lizards, frogs and crabs.

Capturing an animal for the first time will grant you the achievement “Trying To Tame Me?”. You can also capture crystalflies to get the achievement “Not Flyin' Away This Time!” and a finch to get the “The Net Closes In” achievement.

Wildlife Archive

You can check whether a particular animal is able to be captured, if you go to the Archive and look at Wildlife in the Living Beings Category. If there is a net icon on the animal’s picture, it means that you can capture it with the Omni-Ubiquity Net.
